Travel: Hotel Ciudad de Compostela, Santiago de Compostela, Spain

I spent a prolonged weekend in Santiago de Compostela last April with my boyfriend and to choose the hotel I went to Booking. I didn’t care about choosing a hotel without breakfast because that way I could explore new coffee shops in the historic center. I wanted a hotel near the historic center with parking because we went by car and didn’t want to go out with it during our stay.

I chose the Hotel Ciudad de Compostela for the price of the bedroom (€44 per night for 2 persons) and for having parking (€8 per day). I stayed two nights at the hotel. The beds were big and comfortable, but it was a twin bedroom. The view from the room in front was nothing special but on the right I could see Cidade da Cultura and all its splendor.

The parking is in a garage and it’s very complicated to park, it requires experience as a driver because it’s underground, two floors below in a very inclined ramp and it’s very tight. I was sorry for not having breakfast there, the coffee shop/restaurant was cute and spacious, with a buffet and in order to go to the historic center we had to go up on a street. That also made us stay all day off the hotel, without resting in the hottest hours of the day.

My score: 6 in 10, given the fact that had a good pricing, it’s near the center (10min on foot) and has acessibilities for disabled people
